1. First day of fishing begins at
7:30 am sharp with a shot gun start. The starting line will be
in the water within one hundred yards of shore. Make sure that
you are on your boat and ready to fish at least fifteen
minutes early! No boats will be permitted to leave the dock
early for any reason. Remember to have your scorecards
aboard!
2. Any member of your team may pass a
rod from the rod holder to the angler only at time of the
actual hook up. Only one angler may fight any one fish for
it’s prize eligibility. Crew assistance for setting the hook
is allowed.
3. Every angler must comply with all
Mexican fishing regulations at all times. All score cards must
be turned no later than 4:30 pm daily to the score table located in front of Room 21.
4. No released fish will count in the
“largest fish” category. A release consists of the “leader
line” being in the hand of a crew member at the time of
release.
5. Dorado and Tuna (over the weight
limit according to the tournament weight rule chart) must be
recorded on your score card by the weigh master. The weigh
master will be located at the weigh scales at Palmas de
Cortez. Remember, the score cards are located in your
registration packet.
6. Mutilation to any fish in any way
disqualifies that fish during the Corona 2010 East Cape
Classic.
7. Any angler, team and or Captain
caught cheating in any way, will be disqualified from the
tournament. In addition, any and all previous points earned by
that team will be taken away.
8. Any protest must be in writing and
turned into an event director no later than 6:30 pm on the same
day as the alleged infraction. The event director’s decision
is and will be final.
9. Event directors are not eligible
for prizes or individual awards. However, they may qualify for
team trophies, may participate in the daily derby and all
raffles.
10. In case of
a tie win in the“ Largest Fish” category, the first fish
weighed by the weigh master, will be declared the winner.
11. In
case of a tie win in the “Most Points” category, the angler
who catches and releases the most Billfish will be the
declared winner.
12. Payment of
entry fee and event check-in is deemed to constitute
acceptance by all anglers to the Corona 2009 East Cape Classic
event rules.
